It’s almost 2010 and I’m sure everyone’s got their temporary, self-satisfying list of New Year’s Resolutions! In the past, I never really made my own list except for “1. Lose all the holiday weight,” but who doesn’t have that goal?
Okay but seriously. I don’t believe this “list.” You want to become a better person? You wish you could spend more time with family and friends? Learn something new? START ENJOYING LIFE?! Do you really have to wait until next year to do this?! Why don’t you stop procrastinating and just start now. Right now. Make a “Today’s Resolutions” list and do it!
The other day, one of my friends ranted that she was in desperate need for 2009 to be over. Uhhh, 2009 is only a number dear. So what if it’s 2009 or 2010? It’s still a new day, new hour, new minute, new second. Does waiting until January 1st suddenly make everyone feel like a new person? Sure, maybe after that special New Year’s kiss you’ve been waiting for but then you get drunk and find out you have work or school like the next day and remember your so-called “list” in …June.
My Today’s Resolutions List:
1. Finish catching up on Heroes
2. Don’t overindulge on dinner tonight
I’m shooting for the stars right now but don’t let that intimidate you. Instead of a huge goal like “Lose 10 pounds” think of something like “Cut down on sugar,” or “Don’t eat fast food today!” Take it day by day or week by week. Not year by year… START NOW.
